E.C. Stanton hasn't fallen off the face of the Earth... We haven't given up on this endeavor...
In truth, yours truly (Cammie Justus-Smith) has been trying to submit for non-profit status, negotiate rent prices, get insurance, and take care of lots of little details in the past several weeks. All while maintaining my full-time employment, chasing an increasingly precocious toddler, and having gallbladder surgery! This weekend we should be getting formal approval from our space and be headed forward with some open house events.
That being said, we have had to make a few changes about our plans next year. After feedback and much discussion, we have decided to open in 2017 on a part-time basis. Almost all responding parents were more interested in part-time than full-time options when we sent out the survey. I realize that may eliminate some families, who by the nature of having younger kids and traditional business hours employment. I just hope that it will get us to a number where we can open our doors, get more people excited about our movement, and then open with full-time and part-time options in fall of 2018. It also allows us to control costs more (it costs more to rent more!) and get tuition rates even lower.
Keep sending us questions, concerns, and having those conversations. We look forward to meeting you all in real life at first open house event in April!
